If you’ve played World of Warcraft Classic, or any MMORPG, you know that bag space is a big deal for any new character. It’s the difference between having a great time and having to stop what you’re doing, find a vendor, and sell your items constantly to make room for more. Sure, you can always delete some items that aren’t valuable but when you first start out everything matters. Today, when I made a brand new Warlock on the Doomhowl Classic Hardcore Anniversary server something amazing happened. I got a six slot bag on my first kill.

I’ve created a number of characters in WoW over the years and I’ve had wildly different experience when it comes to bag drops. Sometimes I get lucky and find a bag early on while there are other times they don’t seem to drop and it makes leveling painful. Today though my luck hit a new level and I really couldn’t believe it.

I created my Warlock named Thalrich, accepted the first quest Dwarven Outfitters, walked into the snow and cast my Shadow Bolt at a Ragged Young Wolf. There it was, a Small Blue Pouch. I just started laughing to myself. It was such a happy moment for me. After the initial shock wore off I decided to go to Wowhead Classic and check the loot table for the wolf to see just how lucky I ha gotten.

The Small Blue Pouch has a 0.12% chance of dropping, which is insane. To be fair the wolf does have a loot table with 5 small pouches across a range of colors but even if you add up the percentage for all of those there is only a 0.5% chance of a Pouch dropping. That is some incredible luck.

I also decided to kill the wolves any time I walked by them as I leveled in that area to see if I could get another pouch. I never got another one from the wolf. My luck did continue however as shortly into my leveling, at level 4, I was killing trolls and received a small black pouch. There I was, a level 4 hardcore playing running a self founded mode with 2 six slot bags. Level 60, here I come.
