Having Fun With Lineage 2 Revolution

Lineage 2 Revolution Combat

Thanksgiving is a time to be with family, eat good food, take some time away from your normal hustle, and apparently play a new mobile MMORPG called Lineage 2 Revolution.  The release of the game timed perfectly with my time away from work and as a result I downloaded Lineage 2 Revolution to give it a try.  I was not disappointed.

This is not a real review of the game, just my first post back from Thanksgiving and I wanted to share some of the experience within the game.  One thing I didn’t expect when going into this game was how addicting the game would be.

There is so much to do in the game.  There are daily quests, weekly quests, daily dungeons, towers where you keep fighting up floors, pvp aspects, mounts (level 50), wide variety of classes, an amazing clan system, and eventually 30v30 castle and fortress sieges.  Clans can even declare war on each other and fight other members in the open world!

So I know what you’re thinking, an MMO means a lot of question.  Well yes, but L2R has done an exceptional job with this.  The game almost plays itself, leaving you in a management position for part of the time.  What I mean by this is you select a quest, then your character runs to the mobs, kills them, then runs back to turn it in, you just have to click OK.  It’s like you run your own personal bot!  This is more fun than it sounds and it gives you time to manage your inventory, upgrade armor, enhance weapons, improve your relics, among many other things.  All of this is in an effort to increase your CP which is a measure of your strength which I won’t get into depth here.

On top of that the game has a great clan system that motivates players to donate to the clan which helps the clan grow and give rewards to it’s members.  The motivation I speak of isn’t just loot but also clan tokens that you can spend in the clan shop which can give you XP pots or boost your character in other ways.  This helps players feel like they get something back from the clan and aren’t just throwing away currency.

I’m currently playing a level 50 tank (Shilien Knight) and a level 49 archer (Phantom Ranger).  Long story about why I have two characters but from here on out I’m just going to focus on my tank and log into my archer to do the daily gold runs to donate to the clan.  I’m not sure how long I’ll keep playing the game but it probably takes less than an hour to complete the dailies which are fun to do.  Also, since your character can farm xp or items on their own it doesn’t hurt to have the game on while watching TV or being on the computer then go back and see what loot you have.  If you need a mobile game to get you through the upcoming holidays I’d say Lineage 2 Revolution may be just what you need!
